Goodwill

of
Lane
and
South
Coast
Counties
I
created
this
site
for
Goodwill
Industries
of
Lane
and
South
Coast
Counties
(Oregon)
in
2003.
They
wanted
a
site
that
was
professional
and
easy
to
navigate:
to
present
their
newsletter,
"The
Voice";
showcase
their
retail
stores
and
donation
centers,
and
their
employment
and
training
services.
The
opening
page
has
an
array
of
rollover
graphics
introducing
each
of
the
eight
primary
categories
within.
On
the
inside
pages,
they
wanted
a
clean
and
inviting
interface
that
provided
access
to
their
primary
categories
as
well
as
additional
sections
offering
access
to
their
Annual
Report
and
providing
more
details
on
their
facilities
and
programs.
The
whole
site
was
to
be
equally
inviting
to
their
staff
as
to
the
community
they
served.
At
Goodwill's
request
we
also
developed
a
"Jobs"
page
where
candidates
can
submit
employment
applications
directly
from
the
site.
We
later
added
slideshows
showing
off
a
new
facility
in
North
Bend
and
their
beautiful
new
50,200
square
foot
Green
Acres
Training
Center
in
suburban
Eugene.

WHAT'S
IN
A
DOMAIN?
Protecting
your
corporate
identity
against
"cybersquatters"
If
you're
going
to
Washington
DC
soon
and
you
want
to
see
about
a
White
House
tour,
you
want
to
be
careful
when
you
enter
the
Web
address
in
your
browser,
because
"whitehouse.com"
and
"whitehouse.org"
aren't
going
to
be
any
help
in
booking
tours.
"whitehouse.gov"
is
the
official
Web
address
of
1600
Pennsylvania
Avenue,
but
some
years
ago,
someone
thought
ahead
and
purchased
the
other
two
domain
names,
knowing
rightly
that
they
were
going
to
get
a
lot
of
traffic
thanks
to
Web
users
seeking
info
on
the
White
House
and
typing
in
the
wrong
domain
extension.
This
is
an
issue
you
should
bear
in
mind
when
registering
your
domain
name
for
the
Web.
To
not
do
can
cost
your
business,
in
revenue
and
reputation.
If
your
launching
a
site
for
your
store
Hats
by
Bob,
when
you
buy
"hatsbybob.com",
spend
the
extra
few
dollars
to
secure
"hatsbybob.net"
and
maybe
even
several
of
the
other
less
popular
but
still
used
domain
extensions
(.org,
.biz,
etc.).
